Position Overview

The Project Architect / Project Manager will manage custom and luxury single-family home projects throughout the complete project lifecycle—from Schematic Design through Construction Administration. This individual will be responsible for design development, project documentation, estimating, budgeting, permitting, consultant coordination, material selections, contract administration, site visits, and collaboration with subcontractors.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience working for a home builder, single-family residential builder, or architecture firm specializing in custom single-family homes.

Qualifications
 

• Minimum of five years of professional experience working for a home builder, single-family residential builder, custom home builder, or architecture firm specializing in single-family residential projects.

• Demonstrated experience managing luxury or high-end custom home projects.

• Strong knowledge of residential design, construction methods, materials, detailing, building systems, and industry standards.

• Experience managing projects from Schematic Design through Construction Administration.

• Experience with construction estimating, budgeting, contracts, procurement, and cost control.

• Knowledge of permitting processes, building codes, zoning requirements, and consultant coordination.

• Ability to read, prepare, review, and coordinate architectural and construction documents.

• Strong project management, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, consultants, vendors, and subcontractors simultaneously.

• Ability and willingness to visit project sites throughout Arlington and the surrounding Northern Virginia area.
